PCC Pride Award ceremony celebrating Ashley Churches Together Serving (ACTS)
Your Team have won!
The 50th anniversary celebrations of the St Pauls Carnival were spectacular and an event that required dedication and hard work from all involved.
It is because of your team’s contribution to the organisation and support of the event, that you were nominated for and have subsequently won a special PCC Pride Award!
This special ceremony was held on: Wednesday 7th November 2018 at Bristol City Hall and was jointly hosted by:
Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens; Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees and Bristol Deputy Mayor Councillor Asher Craig.
We had an overwhelming number of nominations, and as such we invited you to represent the
Ashley Churches Serving Together on the evening and collect the award on their behalf.
The special evening recognised people such as yourself (Eric Aidoo), who played instrumental roles in the success of one of Bristol’s biggest and brightest events.
Eric Aidoo said of the event:
"It was a great atmosphere of community spirit. Good to see the church community recognised and honoured alongside the private, public and voluntary sector together with individuals, the police and other emergency services, for their outstanding contributions to what has been described as one of Bristol's biggest and brightest events.
I had the special privilege of being asked to officially open the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Carnival with a prayer at a VIP reception held in the morning of the Carnival at the Malcolm X centre."
