Ta-dah!
Our new website is open for business. With a modern, mobile-friendly design we hope it will help more people to find and connect with us. |

It’s all part of our renewed focus on supporting Christians working in the media in bringing biblical values to what’s made, and how it’s made. We’ve been working with digital media team One Sheep on making this all happen, and we hope you like the results so far. As part of that we’ve a new logo (nach!), the overlapping shapes indicating the intersection of our work and faith. And we’ve a simple new tag line - ‘where faith and media meet'. |

What can we do?
Together as a community, I hope we can move forward with these things:
-
Creating and sharing the best content. Seen something you’ve loved? Share it with themedianet on Facebook or Twitter or LinkedIn. Want to write something for us, or share some video, audio or images? You can do that there too, or drop us a line to get it onto our website.
-
Discussing ideas and encouraging each other. Unsure about something? Need advice? Or got an inspiring thought? Let everyone know. So far we’re on Facebook or Twitter and LinkedIn.
-
Meeting up. Sometimes there’s no substitute for actually getting together. We’ve our conference in London next week, and plan meet-ups in Essex and Manchester before Christmas. Sometimes there will be a speaker, sometimes it’s just a pint in a pub. Let us know what would work best for you.

Lorde only knows... sorry... God Only Knows was the song chosen by the BBC for their three minute promo for BBC Music on Tuesday night. Featuring a host of famous musicians, it was apparently their first ever pan-channel simulcast. What did you think? |

I loved it, though the visuals did rather remind me of an old campfire song. Oh you’ll never get to heaven/on a celebrity’s helium balloon. Angel wings and clouds were much in evidence. Best bit - Brian May of course. My best friend… well ok I worked with him once.
Talking of celebrity obsession, you might be interested in Kirsten Dunst’s short video on the subject of celebrity selfie obsession. Fair? Or unkind to loyal fans who pay her wages? Share your thoughts in our Facebook group.
Regional journalism website Hold the Front Page had a nice piece this week about John Richards, apparently one of Britain’s ‘most boring men’. |

But what’s not to love about a retired sub-ed with an apostrophe obsession? Punctuation matters, as I noticed this week when looking at this note written by my son for my wife. Domestic arrangements or chilling epitaph? A comma would make all the difference. (Sorry, Nathan). |

Assistant editor at the Spectator, Telegraph columnist and BBC Radio 4 presenter, she’s part of our morning session called The Gloves Are Off. How do journalists of integrity make sure they keep their hands clean? Isabel and her fellow panellists, including Dan Hodges of the Telegraph, help us work it out. Our discounted rate ends early on Sunday morning, and final bookings on Tuesday lunchtime. |

Jobs
A couple of charity-based media jobs we’ve noticed this week:
Located in central London, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital are looking for a
graphic designer, working across their print and digital publications.
Oxfam are looking for a new
Social Media Manager, based in Oxford. They want someone to engage with and grow their 900,000-strong audience of supporters.
Got something for us to share? Just
drop us a line and we’ll get it round to everyone.
That’s all for now - looking forward to meeting some of you at the breakfast, conference, AGM and Jerusalem Awards (quite a day!). I'll leave you with a prayer...
Lord,
you are faithful and never too busy.
Your word is right and true
and your plans stand firm forever.
Help me to understand what you are saying to me,
so that I may graciously say what I mean
and mean what I say.
For I want to keep my promises to you and others,
as I walk in the freedom of faith all my days. Amen
