What we do
Gather: To build relationships and unity
In 2012, we gathered over 5k people on the Global Day of Prayer for Arise Bristol! at Ashton Gate stadium. For a season, we gathered prayer leaders, plus church and sphere leaders, to pray, build friendships, and exchange stories across the Bristol region. We encourage groups of Christians to pray in their local geographical areas or in their spheres of life, for example at
Hope Prayer Centre.
Grow: To learn from God and each other
We pray together for one another, and for the whole of life across the city, for example, at an All Night Prayer Vigil in 2014. Since 2017, church leaders gather three times a year, for prayer breakfasts with the Mayor, which help grow a vision for transforming the city. We learn together through prayer conferences, including with teaching from other nations, such as Uganda. We spur one another on to more radical discipleship, learning to hear, obey and trust God.
Go!: To act together and as individuals
We take strategic action together, for example, through SPARK, which connects the leaders of different prayer networks. Through WhatsApp groups we pray continually, for the transformation of every sphere of life in the Bristol region. We pray and take action about the Mayor, Council, One City Office and other key issues, such as COVID-19, for example, with a Zoom call for 160 on the National Day of Prayer, March 2020.
See the
Timeline for more examples of how we are helping transform the Bristol region for good.
