Staying Connected: Bristol Churches Online Services Guide
Across Bristol during these strange times with the COVID-19 pandemic, we're all getting used to staying in more with almost no face to face socialising, except the occasional walk/run in the park or essential trip to the shops etc. We are reminded at this time that our churches are not the mere bricks and mortar of our meeting spaces, but consist of the people, who now separated are finding alternative ways to build community and worship online. Please see below for a growing list of alternative online Sunday (mainly) streaming services and gatherings etc:
If you wish to add to the guide, please send the details (as per the below examples) to this email address:

Staying Connected Message from Keyboard Trust
Dear Friends,
I thought it would be useful to send you this email to provide some practical assistance given the Government's recent advice and direct medical directives in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, to faith communities this week to reduce large gatherings.
The Government's aim is to avoid the transmission of the virus and allow the Health Service to prepare for and cope with this unfolding epidemic. This has meant that faith leaders are having to take drastic and unprecedented steps to reduce the spread of infection.
Some faith groups have canceled their weekly and weekend services. As a means of support, I would like to share the following information on how to host your meetings online. Using these online webinar applications will help you connect with your congregation.
Phone Facebook Youtube Zoom
GoToWebinar Skype Periscope
Please find further information click on this link
When you are considering running a live stream, there are a few things to remember.
1. To have good lighting and to make sure it not too bright or too dark.
2. Have a clean backdrop, white wall, or use your banner (sometimes the image reflects back to front - so check with a test run).
3. Write an intro script if necessary. Be clear about what you want to say so your talk is focused and consistent. Smile, laugh, be honest.
4. Good audio - ensure there's no background noise, and also that your mic is not too loud or to low. Remember that some mics are sensitive.
5. Give yourself adequate space in the video frame. Don't position yourself to close to the video lens. You can go hands-free and use a phone stand.
6. Think about an interaction call to action, prayer, and encouragement. Let people know they can send in prayer requests.
7. Support for your ministry! Share your link to your website, donation link Paypal etc.
8. You can end your stream with a word of hope, encouragement or prayer.
-----
So from us at the Keyboard Trusts, please be encouraged to remember:
Psalms 91:1-2 W
hoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.
2 Timothy: 1-7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Kind regards

Staying Connected Message from the Worship Collective project
Hi there!
The events of the last couple of weeks have brought with them so many challenges, in all walks of life. For us as churches, we face the huge challenge of continuing to facilitate community and worship for our congregations. Technology makes some of this so much easier, which is amazing. But a lot of churches are struggling to provide video content for sung worship, specifically made for their congregation.
Set up by Niall Dunne, who is the worship leader at St Martin's Church, Liskeard (
www.smartchurchliskeard.co.uk), the Worship Collective project is working with worship leaders who are already producing videos for their local churches at this time, and asking them to ‘gift’ a video session of worship to a church that could really benefit from it. The church can then post the videos on their youtube channels or facebook pages - however they are best communicating with their congregations. It would be a gift to support them in this time.
How will it work?
If you represent a church who could do with support with worship video content, firstly get in touch, by messaging through our Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/Worship-Collective-120157394610/
Or alternatively email Niall at
worship a_t smartchurchliskeard d_o_t co d_o_t uk
Then we’ll connect you with a worship leader, who will send you a video of them leading a worship session (approximately 20 minutes long), via We Transfer, and you can upload it to Youtube, or share with your congregation as you wish, as part of your provision for your Sunday Service.
If this is something you think could help your church at this time, please get in touch and we’ll try to support you in this area. Alternatively, if you are, or know any worship leaders who might be interested in giving in this way, please share as widely as you can.
God bless
Niall Dunne
