The Changing Tunes 'Live in Lockdown' album is now on sale and there's another chance to catch our recent Concert Film

In this email we celebrate our recent Concert Film, shine a light on a spoken word piece called Doorway and recommend the Changing Tunes album Live in Lockdown as the perfect stocking filler ...

Thank you so much

Firstly, we want to say a massive thank you to all of you who were able to tune in to our Concert Film last month. If you weren't able to join us, don't worry as the event is still available to watch via the Changing Tunes YouTube Channel - just click here

We have been positively overwhelmed with feedback over the past few weeks, with many of you commenting on the musicianship, commitment and sincerity shown by Musicians-In-Residence, volunteers and beneficiaries.

Others have said that it’s helped them to understand more about what we do and the difference we make. We’re so pleased to be able to celebrate the musical work of our beneficiaries and to provide a window into the work that our Musicians-in-Residence do.

Here is some of our favourite audience feedback from the event:

‘Thank you to everyone involved. I have been entertained and enlightened.’

‘ ... such a varied set of music by some seriously talented folks!  Thanks so much - it brought joy to an otherwise boring lockdown Saturday!’

‘Brilliant and inspirational to see such a talented and caring group of people so committed to helping those in real need’

The event raised over £2500 on the night and we’ve continued to receive more donations since - thank you so much for your generosity.

The donations that we receive make a meaningful difference, helping us to support the creativity and rehabilitation of the people we work with, especially at this challenging time.

Doorway

Doorway, featured in our Concert Film, is written by a Changing Tunes participant and performed by one of our Musicians-in-Residence
Alongside audience feedback, we've also received brilliant feedback from beneficiaries who were involved in the Concert Film::

'Changing Tunes really help me to build the resilience I need to withstand things that might sabotage me. Doing this project got me back in the zone. It reinforced my goal to stay on the long road to recovery. It boosted my serotonin levels! The Concert Film meant that my songs came to fruition, by playing them with people and having my audience. To do the filming and experience it going live was brilliant. The creative element of my own recovery is very important and making recordings and performing like this gives visible evidence of that.'

We are particularly proud of Doorway, a spoken word piece that featured at the end of the Concert Film. Written by a Changing Tunes participant and performed by one of our Musicians-in-Residence, this moving and hopeful piece offers a rare insight into the daily reality of life behind bars.  Click here to have a listen.
