Bristol Mayoral Election 2021 Candidates

 

Many local elections had to be delayed from last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, including that for the next Mayor of Bristol.

The rescheduled Mayoral Election is due to take place on Thursday 6 May, 2021, along with local Bristol City Council elections (all 70 seats), Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner and Elections for West of England Mayor.

 

The Bristol Mayor candidates announced so far are as follows:

Caroline Gooch is a Liberal Democrats candidate in the following elections:
  • Mayor of Bristol for Bristol City Council mayoral election
     
  • Bristol City Council for Westbury-on-Trym & Henleaze ward

She is a biomedical scientist who wants to scrap the role of mayor. This is her first election.

Sandy Hore-Ruthven is a Green Party candidate in Bristol City Council in the Mayor of Bristol.


He is CEO of a charity for young people who is standing for the first time.

Marvin Rees is a Labour Party candidate in Bristol City Council in the Mayor of Bristol.

Incumbent mayor Marvin Rees (Lab) will be looking to defend his seat and seeks re-election.
