Groundbreakers competition to find Young SDG Heroes

Do you work with young people who want to change the world? Are you a teacher or youth leader who wants to help?
A unique city-wide competition, co-designed by young people and supported by the University of Bristol, will help you do just that.
Between now and June 10th, we are supporting young people (ages 7-25) and educators to develop great new ideas that help reach the Sustainable Development Goals.

Refugee Voices Project ‘best school day ever’!

The Refugee Voices project is aimed at delivering a creative, educational experience for young people and the general public, inspiring a better understanding of refugees and celebrating the culture and skills of migrants to the UK.
Last month schoolchildren at Victoria Park Primary School met 5 creatives with lived experience of migration who have made Bristol their home. The artists – an Iranian chef, Egyptian and Kurdish musicians, and 2 visual artists, Sudanese and Kurdish – shared their skills and stories with local children and answered their questions about migration and their countries of origin. One boy described the experience as ‘the best school day ever’!
These stories are being made into short films by film students at the University of Bristol which will be available soon, with education resources to help more students explore migration.
We are delighted we have received funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund to create an installation from these short films, enabling more people to share these stories.
