Christians in Politics on Songs of Praise

One of the most encouraging things that has been said to me by a church leader in the last few years was this…   “Gosh, you’ve really got Christians in Politics from the seminar tent to the mainstage. You are mainstreaming the concept of politics as a legitimate and important mission-field.”   I think we still have some way to go to do that fully, but that quote came back to me this week as I was reflecting on the fact that you can’t get much more ‘mainstream’ than Songs of Praise!   This Sunday May 28th at 1.15pm on BBC1 they will be featuring a couple of interviews from Westminster and some footage from around the country. I hope it will be useful as a testimony to what God is doing and what he has already done, and more importantly inspire people to what may be possible in the future in the realm of disagreeing well and putting kingdom before tribe.

Please do watch and more importantly as folks who already ‘get’ the need for Christians in Politics, please use this Sunday as an opportunity to point others to the huge need for believers to be involved. Please share the news on social media, word of mouth or whatever way you share things!!   Bless you all..   Andy Flannagan EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR   P.S. Also of note on this same Pentecost Sunday May 28th is that our political hymn “We seek your Kingdom” will be sung as a prayer for the nation by thousands of churches in public spaces around the UK at 3.15pm.
