Prayer for the Response to the Tragic Teenage Stabbings in Knowle West
A brief update for prayer from Lee Abbey Knowle West, Small Missional Community
You may be aware of the fatal stabbing of two teenagers in Knowle West, Bristol, last weekend. This took place less than six roads away from us at Lee Abbey community.
Please pray for the growing response of the Christian community in Knowle West, across Bristol, and beyond.
There has been much prayer, and listening to people, including on the streets during the day and at night.
The churches in Knowle West are collaborating, to help with a practical response, including being present at a quiet space at St Barnabas church, where people are coming to reflect, sign a condolence book and talk about how they are feeling.
This includes when they come to the Foodbank and Welcome Space at the church. Christians from across the Bristol region, with the help of Together4Bristol, are helping out.
We are also collaborating with the Knowle West Alliance, to see how the Christian community on the estate can help the wider response to the stabbings.
Please pray that the Lee Abbey and wider Christian community can continue to play our part, with compassion and wisdom, including getting the rest we need.
