TEN July News - TENteams, Baptisms & More

It's great to see the sunshine; we can only hope it lasts through the summer. Whatever the weather is doing, your support never fails to encourage us, so thank you for all you do as we serve God together.

Camp Fokus Fun

It's such a blessing that we can join God in what He does. It was amazing for us at TEN to return for our second year to the kid’s camp at Camp Fokus, led by Vjeko and Jospia Mrsic, Robi Atlija and leaders from Good News Church in Split. There were eight of us - me, Ken (our Partners Officer) and six young adults: Grace, Hannah, Ellen, Julia, Toby and Tom.

We had a blast with the kids and the team did a fantastic job running workshops, coordinating games and sharing their testimonies. All of us were deeply impacted and encouraged by the faithfulness and dedication of the Croatian team.

Prayers Needed for North Macedonia

Our friends in North Macedonia have asked us to pray for some needs as they serve their communities. Please pray with us and encourage our brothers and sisters:

Young Family in Bitola

A young couple have been coming to church for over a year now and are learning how to live their Christian lives. Since we know them, they have moved several times, not having a home, and now they are staying at the home of the young man’s mother. It has two rooms and this young family are using one. Four of them (the couple have two toddlers) sleep in one bed and they are expecting a girl in [a few] months. Please join us in the prayer that God will move the hearts of the church people to help as much as they can, or maybe for a door to open for them to get credit at the bank to get a home for their family.

Church Has Its Windows Broken in Chiflik

Dear ones, there was another attack on the evangelical church in Chiflik. This is the latest of many [other attacks] that have occurred over the years. In one of the previous attacks, there was an unsuccessful attempt to set the church on fire. This time, a few windows were broken.

The devil does everything he can to stop us from preaching the gospel in this church. But this only makes us stronger, knowing that God is on our side. Please pray for this church to continue to be a place where the name of Jesus is glorified through prayer, worship, sermons at the church and in the surrounding area.

Slava's Baptism in Serbia

Last month, we were really encouraged to hear about a conference between Sombor and Novi Sad Christian Fellowships in Serbia, which resulted in several men and women being baptised in the River Danube. Here's more from our partner, Zoltan Vegel who leads Protestant Christian Fellowship of Sombor on how the gospel transformed Slava's life:

Slava is a Russian refugee who was in Belarus when the war with Ukraine started and he never returned to Russia.

He was a Lutheran and found our church through Google Maps. When I met him, his grasp of the gospel was somewhat limited. As we met together and talked and prayed about the gospel and its transforming power, he began to change before our eyes. Literally, he is a different person now!

He is always bright and upbeat, and he has changed significantly from the first time I met him when he thought that "faith is something internal, private, your personal contemplation about the world", to now wanting to share his faith and see people come to Christ.

Even though he was baptised as a child, Slava reached a point where he wanted to obey Jesus, and I had the privilege of baptising him [in June], this time "for real"! :)

Please keep Slava in your prayers as he walks with Jesus Christ. Slava was excited when he learned that there are people who want to pray for him in other parts of the world.
