But our latest research shows that almost half of people receiving Universal Credit ran out of food in the last month. In fact, 68% of working households claiming Universal Credit have gone without the essentials in the last six months.

It is clear that Universal Credit is falling short and failing in its most fundamental duty to protect people from severe hardship. You can help by calling on the UK Government to take urgent action ahead of another difficult winter.

Ask your MP to write to the Chancellor, pressing for immediate measures in the upcoming Budget to protect people facing hardship.
