We’ve been a bit quiet recently, and the truth is we’ve been completely overwhelmed with a demand for our services. As we enter autumn, we remain absolutely committed to supporting adult survivors of trauma and abuse.
Increased demand has meant a growing team! Carly has recently joined us as our new Services Manager, Portia and Hannah are new members of the therapy team and Amy takes on the role of Intern Project Support Worker. Please say hello next time you visit the support centre or see us out and about!

Can You Help?
We currently receive 80-100 new referrals a month. Each referral is triaged by our team and includes assessments around risk and contributing factors so that the best plan and impact can be made, adapting to the needs of each person.
We are in desperate need for sponsors to help us balance the costs and provide much needed support.
By donating just £20 per month you give a lifeline to someone in crisis, and help keep us running so we can continue to offer support to those who need it.
Your support is never more needed. |

Our Services
In the past year, our therapists have held 188 clinical assessments and 490 hour-long specialist trauma psychotherapy sessions, alongside our office team who provided signposting services for 636 people needing support in the community.
We ran 91 weekly 2-hour group sessions for up to 12 people per group, as well as trauma-informed yoga and art psychotherapy.
Service users on average saw a significant reduction (58%) in risk of self-harm or suicide within the first 3 months of accessing support. Trauma Breakthrough’s work is life saving for those we support. |

“Well, what can I say? Trauma Breakthrough saved my life.
All of the problems I couldn’t deal with before, don’t seem quite so big now. Although the main thing that’s changed is my perspective, and it’s Trauma Breakthrough that has helped me change that.”
- Aaron, Service-User |

Up for a challenge?
It’s nearly time for one of our favourite events of the year – the Bath Half Marathon! Once again, we’ve got some charity places available, and we’d love for you to join our team.
Taking place on Sunday 16th March 2025, the race follows a fantastic route through the heart of Bath, perfect for first-timers or those looking for a PB.
You’ll receive a Trauma Breakthrough technical t-shirt to wear with pride and we’ll be on hand to help with all your training and fundraising efforts. We'll also be there on the big day to cheer you on! |

“In a world which doesn’t really want to understand the pain of mental illness let alone the agony of being a survivor of abuse, places like Trauma Breakthrough become even more important. Here there are people who understand the deep impact of abuse and in being understood, there is a chance to heal.” |
