This week we received an anonymous quote from a participant of the Life Course.
“I am very grateful for the support and advice received from Life course and think it's amazing how the after care has continued.”
One of the Team Leaders for Client Pathways, Ant, gives us some context.
'This is someone who was referred to the Life Course via the Foodbank. After the course finished they attended the aftercare drop-ins alongside attending women’s day services at Spring of Hope. We've also been able to support them into a work placement.'
'It’s a small testament to the power of a joined-up pathway emerging in our services. It’s also a client voice alluding to the importance that we build pathways in our services.'
We're really encouraged to hear how the new structure is producing positively for people who come to us for support.
Client surveys
Feedback from people who visit our services is so important. It's the only way to find out whether what we're offering is what is needed, and what we need to improve.
Our Learning Lead and Data Officer, alongside our service staff, have been gathering feedback from women staying at Spring of Hope and people in the Wild Goose having food / receiving support.
There is much to learn and the service teams have already started to implement some of the requests, including a Chess Club and a women only breakfast.
Women only breakfast
Women only breakfast at the Wild Goose, from Thursday 30th October!
Women who stay at the night shelter at Spring of Hope currently don't have a place to go to where they know it will be only women and based on the recent client survey, a women only breakfast at the Wild Goose was suggested.
***FEMALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED***
We have a great relationship with Turnaround (previously the Methodist Centre) in Lawrence Hill, who provide breakfast on Thursdays, so we're busy letting men know they can still get food there.
Sleepout 2025 - Friday 10th October
Sleep outside for one night with other inHope supporters to raise funds to help people who sleep outside on the streets of Bristol every night.
The annual Sleepout will be on Friday 10th October at St Stephen's Church in the city centre. This is also World Homelessness Day, so is also a great day to raise awareness.
