Answered Prayer for Day Camps in Moldova

In June, Valeriu and Angela Munteanu, our partners in Tigheci, Moldova, asked us to pray that they could host summer camps (Prayer Diary, April-June). Last month, they collaborated with a nearby Baptist church and held day camps for children at the local village middle school.

The team began with about forty children on day one. On the third and final day, they had over sixty, with some parents who came too, interested in what was happening. Valeriu reported, ‘The programme included games, contests and snacks… but most importantly, the children heard the gospel and had a Bible study.’

Thank you for your prayers. Valeriu and Angela stressed the need for continuity after the camps. Getting the young people together for Bible studies can prove challenging. Because the believers meet in Valeriu and Angela’s home – the church does not yet have its own building – and they are not part of the Orthodox church, they can face suspicion, resistance and opposition. Please bless our brothers and sisters with your prayers for continuity with the young people, collaboration and open doors and hearts to the Good News Valeriu and Angela want to share with their neighbours.

Open Doors and Grace at CASA Summer Camp

Last month, Keynsham Elim Church went out to support their partners, CASA Grace run their annual summer camps – something they’ve been doing for over twenty years! Rachel Lee, who is part of the church and a TEN Ambassador reflected on the teaching and the wonderful team:

This year, our UK team of eight joined the wonderful CASA team, Monika and her family, Neli, Berta and the dedicated CASA volunteers. During the camp, we had the privilege of sharing the gospel and God’s eternal love and compassion with 45 children and 39 teenagers. The children explored The Greatest Adventure — knowing Jesus as Lord and Saviour — while the teenagers watched the Christianity Explored videos.

Monika Mahr, Director of CASA Grace shared about the difficult circumstances many of the young people deal with daily, and the hope God’s love brings:

For some of these precious children, rejection is sadly a familiar experience. Being able to show them genuine care, acceptance and the love of God was incredibly meaningful. It is incredible to see how God opens doors and makes possible what can seem impossible. Every child and teenager arrives with their own difficult story, yet God’s love creates a place where they can feel accepted, valued and cared for. I am so thankful to be part of this wonderful family that serves together, bringing our prayers, resources and energy. We trust that the seeds planted at camp will fall on good soil and bear fruit for God.

Please pause to pray for the work of CASA Grace and their partnership with Keynsham Elim. Pray especially for the social, physical and spiritual needs of the young people who heard the gospel, and that what they learned and experienced together will produce much fruit.

Educational Centre Brings Hope in Bojnik

In southern Serbia, there has been much rejoicing at Evangelical Church Good News, Bojnik, which has just opened the doors of its brand-new Educational Centre. TEN partners, Pastor Danijel and Aleksandra Reckovic told us:

Bojnik is a small community, and for many years very little has changed. There are limited opportunities for children and young people, especially for those growing up in difficult circumstances.

We believe that the Educational Centre can become one of the places that brings hope, opportunity, relationships and positive change to our community. There are many possibilities, and we believe that the centre will develop according to the needs of the community and, above all, according to God's leading.

Some of the things we are already planning and preparing for include preschool and educational activities, a place for young people, Bible study and prayer, camps, training and seminars and a place for the wider community.

Every gift, every prayer and every word of encouragement helped us move forward. Today, we can say with joy, “The centre is finished. The centre is equipped. The centre is ready.”
